Why Two Photographers

In ages past, the services of a single photographer was the norm in wedding photography. Today, however, that trend is changing as brides are more discriminating and want every possible activity of their wedding day recorded.

Because each photographer has his or her own unique perspective and style, a company that offers two photographers affords a unique opportunity to add much greater "dimension" to your wedding day photography. And bottom line, two photographers not only mean more variety but more pictures as well.

A real advantage to two photographers, especially where one is female, is that the bridal party does not feel at all uncomfortable in the presence of a female photographer when they are getting dressed. Some of the most priceless photographs are taken during this time. (My alltime favorite was where a bridesmaid had her dress pulled up and was painting her toenails with one of those spongey things separating her toes.) These are shots that would be forfeited if your wedding were being shot be only one male photographer.

Another advantage is the syncrinization of shots. Within our company, we compliment each other's style while not interfering with each other's shots. For instance, I (Bankie) may take a full view front-angle shot of the bride and groom while Tullie gets off to one side and zooms in to capture facial expressions. In a matter of seconds, you get two uniquely beautiful shots of a single incident.

Two photographers can also record two totally separate events going on at the same time. With our company, we are constantly roving.... looking for "photographic opportunities". One photographer may be outside and happen upon a bunch of guys in a beer chugging contest while the other may be getting an adorable shot of the ringbearer and flower girl boogeyin' on the dance floor. As the old saying goes, "Two heads are better than one." So it is with two photographers.

Ironically, the most critical people of photography are photographers themselves and true professionals agree that the rule of thumb is one 'exceptional' photograph in about 20 shots.
So.... the more photographs taken, the greater number of shots you will absolutely cherish!
